Igor and Irina Orlovskiy
Irina and Igor Orlovskiy have been teaching violin, viola, cello and piano for over seventeen years. Their teaching methods are based on the highest standards of European traditions and styles which are regarded as the best in the world.
Both Irina and Igor completed their Master degrees with Distinction in String Performance and Teaching from Moscow State Musical Pedagogical Institute. Igor graduated from the class of Professor Izabella Golovina - disciple of A. Yampolskiy and Leonid Kogan in Moscow Conservatoire. Irina graduated from the class of Natalia Shashkova. As a child Igor studied at the Special Music School for gifted children associated with Urals Mussorgsky State Conservatoire. For Irina, great teachers and people including Professor Vadim Klishin in P. I. Tchaikovsky Music College, Ekaterinburg (from which Irina graduated with a Diploma receiving a Distinction specializing in Cello Performance) and Tatiana Zavarskaya, disciple of Mstislav Rostropovich and Natalia Shakhovskaya in Moscow Conservatoire, became an inspiration and brilliant examples of dedicated teaching.
Igor and Irina's international teaching and performing experience includes Russia, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. It comes from working with numerous orchestras in Russia including the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra and Moscow Chamber Orchestra "The Seasons". In New Zealand, Igor performed with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, 'Opus' Chamber Orchestra and 'Bach Musica' Orchestra regularly performing a wide violin repertoire as a soloist. Irina greatly enjoyed performing with Auckland Chamber Orchestra. Having an extensive private music practice in Auckland, New Zealand, Irina and Igor widened their teaching experience in St Peter's College and Howick School of Music.
In Australia, where Igor and Irina immigrated to in 2008, they established a private music school. Students of the School successfully complete music exams and win numerous string competitions including the English Family Prize Competition, Brisbane and Redlands Eisteddfods and the AUSTA Competition. In 2013, Igor, together with Spiros Rantos and Shaun Lancaster, was a judge at Animato International Competition.
Igor and Irina enjoy working with children and adults, supporting their progress and confidence in playing musical instruments. They have 6 beautiful children who are all encouraged to learn a musical instrument. The family enjoys weekends at the beach, exploring the mountains and camping.
Daria was born into a very musical family. Her parents, Irina and Igor Orlovskiy are professional string players and music teachers. Daria started playing flute at the age of 8 and has continued her learning experience since. Daria has played at many of her parents’ music school concerts: solo and in small chamber groups with violin, cello and piano. She has participated in many school ensembles and orchestras and has won numerous prizes at various competitions around Brisbane. She is currently studying flute and piccolo and has successfully performed as part of the Symphony Orchestra in Creative Generations (CGEN) in the years 2013 - 2015.
Playing flute is Daria's passion and she would love to pursue a career of a professional musician. Daria already has a few students whom she teaches music theory and she enjoys gaining teaching experience and exposing her students to the musical world.
Daria is currently studying at the University of Queensland completing a Bachelor of Music degree, specialising in flute.
Peter has been playing piano from the young age of 6, starting under the tuition of Mikhail Tablis. Having completed a number of AMEB exams, Peter has gone on to study piano professionally at the University of Queensland under the tuition of Liam Viney and Anna Grinberg. He is now currently in his second year of study.
Throughout his student years he has participated in many concerts as a soloist and a piano accompanist in concerts organised by teachers, schools and Orlovskiy Music. He has participated in school bands and has completed courses of composition, recording and producing; both at school and at University.
Despite his young age, Peter has previous teaching experience from his own private tuition and from Global Music Australia. Peter greatly enjoys teaching the practical and theoretical sides of music and showcasing the musical world to his students.
